SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health reports eight Covid-19 deaths on Sunday. The state also reported 1,382 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours. That makes the 18th straight day of more than 1,000 cases, however, Sunday’s case count is six percent lower than last Sunday. Cases fluctuate depending on the day of the week because of variations in reporting schedules from the many local agencies.
