PERU – A rash of car burglaries is being investigated by the Peru Police Department. In a release on Monday, authorities say that the southwest section of town has seen an increase of unlocked cars being entered with items taken. The Peru Police say that around 2 AM on Monday they were called to the 2800 block of 2nd Street for a male subject allegedly knocking on doors. They pursued the subject on foot but were unable to locate them after a search. Police say vehicles in the area were allegedly entered and rummaged through. Peru Police remind residents to keep their vehicle locked and if you have any tips or information regarding these burglaries to let them know.
