SPRINGFIELD – 1,393 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed in the state on Wednesday, along with 18 additional deaths. The Illinois Department of Public Health has now reported 175,124 cases since the beginning of the pandemic with 7,462 deaths. As of Wednesday night, 1,491 individuals in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19, with 355 in the ICU and 152 on ventilators.
