PERU – Peru City Council discussed the need for a new police department building at Monday night’s meeting. Mayor Scott Harl explained that the current building does not provide enough space for the department. City Engineer Eric Carls stated that they are currently collecting data to present to the council regarding the needs and wishes of the police department and will then look at potential buildings and lots. Carls did say that the former CVS building, which was presented as an opinion when Peru was looking at a shared service agreement with LaSalle, will not be used for the department.
