“so here I go, again”

April 13th, 2010 by mark-peru

Lifting the line; “well whats wrong with that, I’d like to know, so here I go, again” from Silly Love Songs, I’m starting a brand new Find The Location contest. This time it’s the Paul action figure in their Saturday Morning style.

He may visit the same spots as Ringo did, but the idea is the same.

I’ll post a close up shot of Paul here on the BWB Blog page, with a few hints of where he is posed visable in the photo as well.

The first one of you to reply with the correct location via the “Leave a Reply” option here on the blog wins a Beatles CD!

THESE 2 PICS ARE JUST SAMPLES!! DON”T VOTE ‘CAUSE LOTS OF YOU WOULDN’T GUESS MY BACKYARD. haha
FIRST OFFICIAL PHOTO TO GUESS WILL GO UP DURING THE SHOW THIS SUNDAY. Wheeeeee!

Have fun, good luck!

love,
mark

Happy Birthday “Please Please Me”

March 10th, 2010 by mark-peru

please32Anniversary of Please Please Me in America

Forty seven years ago this month, Please Please Me became the first Beatles single released in the U.S. and also became the title track to the Beatles first LP in the UK. Written solely by John Lennon, John recalled in the 1980 Playboy interview that “it was my attempt at writing a Roy Orbison song, would you believe it?”

Studio chatter from Rock Band

January 12th, 2010 by mark-peru

Besides the music, the game also lets you unlock rare pictures and videos, and even has some audio of the guys in the studio from the original sessions, clips of which play before the songs.

Great stuff. Listen for some on Sunday mornings!1433061_height370_width560

Beatles for Christmas

December 1st, 2009 by mark-peru

imagesIf you’ve not heard any of the very cool “Christmas covers” of Beatle songs I play during December, be sure to listen these next few Sundays. Groups like “The Fab Four” have very cleverly arranged familiar Beatle melodies to holiday lyrics. Also, we’ll play some selections from the Beatles themselves from their annual Fan Club discs.

It’ll be fab!

Happy Christmas.

so paul has a new record out….

Paul McCartney has contributed a brand new song “(I Want To) Come Home” to the soundtrack for new movie Everybody’s Fine - and it has been posted online.

The film also stars Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale and Sam Rockwell.

The film, starring Robert De Niro is released nationwide on December 4, but you can hear Macca’s new track below.

McCartney says he identified with De Niro’s character in the film, and easily wrote the song in just one evening, saying: “I could definitely identify with Robert De Niro’s character because I have grown-up kids who have their own families.”

Beatles “Isolations” Show

October 27th, 2009 by mark-peru

I’m working on an “Isolations” show. That is, various tracks isolated from others. The new Dolby 5:1 mixes make it outstanding fun.

 Here’s an example;

my son and I have been practicing the bass line. Whoa Paul! you were (are) great!
