STREATOR - Annual membership meeting


The LaSalle County Landowners Association Annual Membership Meeting will be held March 11, at Chipper's Restaurant. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting at 7:30 p.m. The public is welcome.

PRINCETON - Concert series


The Women's Winter Get-A-Way Choir will present three area concerts for the public this March. The first concert is March 7, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton; the second is March 14, at Zion Lutheran Church in LaMoille; and the third is March 21, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Princeton. All concerts begin at 2 p.m. and admission is free.

LASALLE - Stories by Tricia

OTTAWA - Scholarship fund raiser


The Ottawa Township High School Booster Club will hold its annual scholarship fund raiser beginning at 6 p.m. on March 13, at the Ottawa K of C Hall. Cost is $20 per person in advance and $25 at the door. Call 343.1108 for more information.

PERU - Become a Red Cross disaster volunteer


The Illinois Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross will offer a free disaster volunteer training at the Mendota Civic Center from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on March 13. Call 223.0922 for more information.

LAMOILLE - Pancake and sausage breakfast


The LaMoille Lions Club will hold an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on March 14. The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, ham, eggs, toast, orange juice, milk and coffee. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 10 and children 5 and under are free. Additionally, March 14, is diabetes awareness day at the Lions Club. Get blood sugar evaluations and blood pressure readings from 8:30 a.m. until noon. Twelve hour fast required for blood sugar.

UTICA - Irish storytelling at Starved Rock Visitors Center


Bill Meyers, Starved Rock State Park storyteller, will perform "Luck o' the Irish" program at 1 p.m. on March 14, at the Starved Rock Visitors Center. The program, sponsored by the Starved Rock Foundation, is free and open to the public.

WALTHAM - Pancake breakfast


Waltham Elementary School will host a pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on March 14, at the north school. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 4 to 13. Children 3 and under are free. The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, milk, juice, coffee and donuts. Tickets available at the door.

ARLINGTON - Pancake and sausage breakfast


St. Patrick Parish in Arlington is sponsoring an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on March 14, in Bishop Franz Hall. The menu includes "Nuco's" sausage, pancakes, eggs, toast and beverage. Adults are $5; children 6 to 10 are $3 and five and under are free. Tickets are available at the door. Carry-outs are available.

OTTAWA - Free workshop

LASALLE - Renaissance program fundraiser


The LaSalle-Peru Township High school Renaissance Committee will hold a fundraiser at Wendy's in Peru from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. on March 18. The program will receive a percentage of the profits from the proceeds during that time. There will also be prizes and give aways.

MINONK - Spring event


1940's Radio Hour will be performed at Fieldcrest High School in Minonk at 7 p.m. on March 19 and 20 and at 2 p.m. on March 21. Tickets are $5 and available at the door. Author Jennifer Chiaverini will present a program and hold a book singing at 10 a.m. on March 20, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ottawa. The program is sponsored by the Illinois Valley Quilting Guild.

PERU - Lisa Pangrcic benefit


A benefit will be held from 4 until 10 p.m. on March 20, at the Knights of Columbus in LaSalle for Lisa Pangrcic, who has been diagnosed with cancer. Proceeds will help with medical costs. Tickets are $20 and include dinner and entertainment. Call 220.0883 for more information

OTTAWA - Lincoln Log Building Jam


The Community House of Arts in Ottawa will hold a Lincoln Log Building Jam on March 20 at 807 LaSalle St. CHAOS and the community is looking to break the Guinness Book of World's Records for the largest Lincoln Log structure.

The Illinois Valley Food Pantry's Easter Distribution will be held at the pantry on March 27. Clients may pick up food orders between 10 a.m and 2 p.m. To be eligible for the food order, you must be registered with the pantry. Sign-up deadline is March 24. Donations are also needed. SERENA - FFA pork chop supper


The Serena FFA will host its annual pork chop supper from 5 until 8 p.m. on March 27, at Serena High School. Single pork shop meals cost $8 and double meals cost $10. Tickets are available from FFA members or at the door. The meal includes baked beans, apple sauce, baked potato, dinner roll and dessert. Meals are available by drive-through, take out or dine in.

UTICA - Retreat to the Rock


The Retreat to the Rock Ladies Spring Retreat will be held at Starved Rock Lodge April 9 and 10. Participants may attend all parts of the retreat and prices vary according to which portion they plan to attend. Three full meals are offered with the cost of the retreat.
