PRINCETON - Scholarship available
Heartland Bank and Trust Company, as trustee of the Henkel Scholarship Trust, is seeking applications for the 2015 scholarship award. PERU - DBSA Support Group
The DBSA (Depression, Bi-Polar, Anxiety, Association) of the Illinois Valley support group meets every first and third Monday of the month on the fourth floor in conference room C from 6:30-8 p.m. at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. For more information, call (815) 252-0200. 

The Streator Moose will host bingo this Friday night and every Friday night at 6:30 p.m.

PRINCETON- Diabetes Meeting Offered Monthly
Perry Memorial Hospital wants to provide information and support to those who are dealing with diabetes. Each month, on the 2nd Tuesday, Perry has an informational meeting to provide up-to-date guidelines and realistic ways to manage the diagnosis of diabetes. STREATOR - Scrap Metal Collection

MENDOTA - Casino Night
Saturday April 4, 2015 at the Mendota Golf Course. Games begin at 7 P.M. Blackjack, chck a luck, beat the dealer, craps, tip boards, 50/50, cash bar and there is no entry fee.  Food will be available from 6 P.M. - 9 P.M. Sponsored by Mendota Chamber of Commerce.  

OTTAWA - Bell Ringing to Commemorate End of the Civil War
The Reddick Mansion Association alogn with the Canal Corridor Association invites the churches, schools, public buildings, historic sites, amd all citizens to ring their bellsfor four minutes to represent the four years of the Civil War.  At 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9 2015 The Reddicl Mansion Associationinvites the general public to bring their hand bells or cell phones and meet in Washington Square in downtown Ottawa.  At 2:15 p.m., the gathered group will ring their bells for 4 mnutes.  The Choral Group from Illinois Valley Community College will also be in the park singing.  Reddick Mansion will be open and offering free coffee, lemonade, and cookies to al participants. 

MENDOTA - Superior Bicycle Adventure at Graves Hume Public Library
The Graves-Hume library will present John Lynn and his Superior Bicycling Adveture April 14, 12015 ay 6:30 p.m.  Join John as he bicycles along the south shore of the Great Lakes' greatest lake, Lake Superior.  This program is sponsored by Friends of the Library.  Please call the library to reserve a seat, 815 538 5142.

STREATOR - Quarter Auction at Streatpr Moose
The SGS Band-Aids will be the recipient of funds raised at the April 16, 2016 Quarter Auction at the Streator Moose! We need a huge crowd to make the event successful!! Please plan to come and bring a few friends. It is an enjoyable evening. There will be food and drinks available that evening, and children are welcome!!

UTICA - Pancake breakfast
Waltham Elementary School District 185 will host a pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 19, from 8 a.m .until 12:30 p.m. in the Walthan North Gym in Utica. The breakfast includes pancakes, sausage and beverage. Tickets are $6 per person for adults, $3 for children ages 4 through 13 and free to children 3 and under. There will also be rafles, a 50/50 drawing and door prizes. Proceeds will benefit students and teachers of Waltham Elementary School.

UTICA - Nothing's Sweeter than a Child
LaSalle County CASA (court appointed special advocate) will hold its 8th annual "Nothing's Sweeter than a Child" chocolate sampling and auction on April 19, at Celebrations 150 in Utica. MENDOTA - Medota Museum & Historical Society Pullman District Trip
Tour the historic Pullman District, which includes bus transportation, lunch (including tips) and admission to tHistorcia Pullman District, video, visitors center, guided bus tour through downtown Pullman District. STREATOR - Trivia Night
Streator Township High School Educational Foundation presents its “Trivia Night”, Friday, April 24, 2015 at The Streator Knights of Columbus Hall. Cost is $10 per person. Tables of up to 10 players are welcome to form a team. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Trivia begins at 7:00 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded. Raffles will take place during the event. The K of C will have food available for purchase. LOCKPORT - 44th Annual Old Canal Days Festival
The 44th annual Old Canal Days Festival, including the annual Arts & Crafts Show will be held on Saturday & Sunday, June 20 & 21, 2015. The juried arts & crafts  is on Saturday the 20th 10-5 p.m. and Sunday the 21st 10-4 p.m. Booth fees are $100 for standard and $120 for a corner.
